Mama J’s Produce is a small market farm specializing in hydroponic greens and soil grown vegetables. Mama J’s utilizes greenhouses and other protective culture focusing on fresh and local produce. Started in 2009 in Cartersville Georgia, Mama J’s is owned and operated by a mother and son duo, Carol and John Jerauld, who truly represent a “locally grown family farm.” Mama J’s supplies fresh produce to upscale restaurants from Cartersville to Atlanta and attend various local farmers markets.

Our first greenhouse was bought from an annual flower grower in Holly Springs. We dismantled and reassembled the 56 x 176 monster of a greenhouse with little to no knowledge other than some basic construction experience.

Once the greenhouse was built, we had enough money to fill up 1/4 of the house total. To say during this time we learned some hard (costly) lessons would be an understatement. As money allowed, we slowly filled the rest of the house with various varieties of lettuce. When filled it holds around 15,000 heads.
Next, we built 5 high tunnels where we grow root vegetables and various greens in soil. Again, these tunnels were bought from an out of business flower grower in Holly Springs and reassembled back in Cartersville. The high tunnels are 24 x 96 ft of covered area.
Being a glutton for punishment, we built our second and last hydroponic greenhouse in early 2016! This 30 x 200 ft greenhouse was bought in Thomaston, Ga and then transported back to Cartersville. In this house we grow very little lettuce and much more arugula, chard, and various other greens. We also use this house to start many of our outside transplants.
In the middle of all this we have also added a couple additions to our family. Addi, who is 9yrs old and our newest Ellie Grace.
